Hammer Museum

One of the benefits of using public transportation to and from work is I'm actually walking around. I put on my Ipod, hop on the bus and think about anything but traffic.
I've been meaning to visit the UCLA Hammer Museum for the longest time (2 yrs). On Thursday, on the way home, the bus stopped at the Westwood/Wilshire intersection for the longest time and had the doors open. I looked across the street and saw the "Masters of American Comics" display at the museum. I also remembered that on Thursdays, the museum is open later (til 9PM) and admission is free. So all in all, I put all the signs together and got off the bus. Walked across the street and completed my prolonged promise to myself.
The "Comic" installation was more impressive than I thought. If you read the comic strip on the newspaper, I highly recommend visiting this exhibit. It's very kewl, you'll need to allot at least a whole hour to view everything (took me 1.5 hours) and well worth it. Original comic strips from 1960's were fanominal.
I would have stayed longer, but by then I was getting quite hungry. I've had an inkling to goto Sak's for some time and it was only a block away (see flickr for photos). So I completed ANOTHER procrasinated promise I had previously made to myself.

Everyone is concerned about me not having a car... but it's definitely having it's benefits.

Now I gotta go and map out my bus routes to church tomorrow.
