Roaming In Tecate, Mexico

Roaming
Originally uploaded by supawako.
This past Saturday, I helped out my parent's church (Vally United Presbyterian Church in San Fernando Valley) by joining a mission down to Tecate, Mexico for a day. There we found impoverished children waiting for a junk food day and donations. I drove one of the three vans that were filled with hot dogs, chips, caprisuns, toys, books and clothes that had to be smuggled into Mexico to reach the children. It was a great experience. I have had the chance to travel the world and see the finest of the finest but this was the first time I purposely set out to visit an impoverished city. Not to mention this was my first mission ever. The experience was very humbling and helped me to appreicate the numerous opportunities I have just by living in the United States.

Lucas

This is Lucas (not my baby). He's 7 months old and a P.I.M.P. He's a total player. Smiles and giggles for the ladies and constantly needs attention. He starts crying whenever he's placed in his cradle and no one's paying attention to him. His mother (Dionne) needed to go to the restroom and I was the only one still around. It was past 6 PM and everyone else had already left. I only had a few things to wrap up before I left so I didn't want to get too distracted.
So with one hand on Lucas and the other on the mouse I plugged away. To keep him distracted from banging on my keyboard, I set my camera on a timer and placed it in front of him. I think the camera was on a 10 second count. It beeps the count down and flashes. This was one of the shots captured by the process.

Quyen & Bogie's Wedding

On Stage

Very fun wedding (also my seventh wedding this year). It was at the Universal Hilton on Sept. 10th. My first Vietnamese/American wedding. There was a Vietnamese M.C., band and singers. Accompanied by a 10-12 course meal that was gradually served throughout the night. Lots of 80's music, disco ball and very funny karaoke-style entertainment.

Venetian Hotel

view from the 11th floor

I was in Las Vegas this past weekend for Bogie's bachelor party. A lot of sun, gambling, booze and of course T&A. This is a shot from our suite on the 11th floor. It was a great view of the pool and the new hotel Wynn.
